January 25-28, 2007
Papa Ralph turned 70 on January 26. I flew to Dallas, Maggie picked me up from the airport and we went to dinner with Barry, Wendy, and Tyler at yet another yummy Mexican Restaurant.
Barry and I drove to Winfield on Friday, after going through Stillwater to pick up Kelsey and her roommate Robin. We met up with the rest of the family (18 in all!) and surprised Dad at his front door singing Happy Birthday. It was a great time for all. Dad received over 150 cards and calls from friends and extended family.
We drove back to Dallas after having lunch with Kelsey and Robin at Eskimo Joe's.
It was great to have the driving time to catch up with Barry. Can't remember when we have spent so much time together without the distractions of lots of kids around!
I spent the evening and all day Sunday with Maggie. We went to the Farmer's Market and enjoyed the beautiful array of arranged fruits and vegetables. Then we met Barry for brunch at Cafe Brazil. Maggie showed me all over her neighborhood and we shopped at some cute little vintage thrift shops where I found a pair of Frye boots that took me back to the 70's the minute I slipped my vintage foot into them. I just had to have them! We spent a little time at the Wine Therapist, a great little wine bar, before heading to the airport and back to Florida.
